During our October 2011 vacation, we stayed at the Polynesian Resort. This was my first time staying in the Tahiti building and our first lagoon view at this hotel. Previously, we had stayed in Tokelau (twice) and Aotearoa. There’s a lot to love about this seaside resort with torchlit paths by night and swaying palms by day.
So, let’s get to the tour…
On to Tahiti!
The first thing that I’ve always enjoyed about the Polynesian Resort is the size of the rooms – most are 409 square feet of comfort.
Most rooms have two queen beds with a daybed.
The bedside table is convenient depending on which side of the bed that you get dibs on. Otherwise, you’ll end up with nowhere to place your refillable mug while lounging during your mid-day break.
A classic Mickey-icon!
We enjoyed having these two chairs in our room. When the weather was less than tropical, we sat near the window and admired the view from indoors.
Rollaway beds are not an option at this resort due to the in-room daybeds already in place.
Ceiling fans are great for moving the air and drowning out hallway noise.
The multi-functional entertainment center space works well in the room. We had plenty of space to organize our “stuff”.
Polynesian touches are seen throughout the room.
Double-sink vanities with whimsical sconces in soft lighting.
Hair dryer provided.
Lots of towels!
Shower and tub.
First, we had a rainy day view. You know you’re in WDW when you hear that ferry’s whistle as it heads to the TTC and then back to the Magic Kingdom!
Then it really turned into paradise – with sunny skies!
